Farewell to a Brother rider...


It was a sad day for all of us in VROC when we learned that our fellow VROCer, Mark Irwin had passed while riding to visit friends. As part of Mark 'Kilo' Irwin's last wishes, I offered to take some of his ashes to be scattered here in Nova Scotia.

I'm a member of the Valley Shifters Motorcycle Club and today at our meeting, I mentioned to the Club the task that I was planning to undertake, and asked if they'd be willing to accompany me on Kilo's last ride. Everyone who attended the meeting today was more than willing to take come along to bid farewell to a brother.

We rode to the top of what we all call the "North Mountain" to a spot called the Lookoff, which overlooks the Minas Basin, the Mouth of the Cornwallis River and has one of the nicest rides to get there. There were 11 bikes and 17 Club Members who made the trek to the Lookoff to help bid farewell to Mark.
